At all costs, the phoenix emerges as an idea materialized in one way or another every December 8th. Whether as a pillar, as a condor, as an infinite task or eternal ideal shield. I told them in order. The last one, the fourth, is a scale representation of a fragment of the Customs building that bears the coat of arms of Catalonia and that I moved in procession from the Foc metro station in the Free Trade Zone to the Customs building, next to the Columbus Monument. I united areas of economic exchange, in a free but regulated cycle; it is or it is not. Anyway, I took the pieces to offer them to the tourists and no one wanted them. The fact is that receiving as gifts glimpses of cultures, foreign or not, has never been customary. The police kicked us out without the officers themselves knowing what was wrong. But maybe that was it: It is not the custom. Things are bought, sold, taken or stolen. Accepting things as gifts has no merit. “You’re waisting your time”.
